Band-Aid® plans to launch a range of bandages that "embrace the beauty of diverse skin"

Band-aid® have finally caught up and have announced that they are "committed to launching a range of bandages in light, medium and deep shades of Brown and Black skin tones that embrace the beauty of diverse skin."

Now, this may look a little opportunistic, especially since there has been many brands of diverse band-aids before., but the more diverse bandages available, the better. Tesco in the UK launched their own version in February this year, and the ad campaign for it was well-received in the international press. I suppose the only people who might not like this news is Trucolor bandages, as here comes the heavy competition.

A word of advice to Trucolor bandages would be to work on getting the best display heigh level in pharmacies and target, so your brand doesn't go the way of Ebon-Aide where poor product placement killed the brand. Band-Aid® knows how to get top-shelf, so get in there before them!

Ebon-Aide
Ebon-Aide "5 shades, 3 sizes" variety pack. Its tagline was "the bandage exclusively designed for people of colour." Available in shades attractively named "honey", "cinnamon", "mocha", "coffee", and "liquorice"
