Lenovo is getting ready for the Olympics. They recently launched an Olympic Torchbearer competition--a global search for torchbearers for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay, designed for "new thinkers." These "new thinkers" are defined by the company as "Motivating Provocative, Imaginative, Individualistic and Explorative."
Through September 30, visitors to Lenovo's web site can register to enter the torchbearer search by submitting a 50 word essay explaining "What makes you a New Thinker for a New World?"
Twenty finalists will be selected and asked to submit a 30 second video touching on an idea that demonstrates new thinking and upholds the Olympic ideals. These videos will be posted on YouTube and voting will then open up to the public. The top 3 contestants will be submitted to the Beijing Organizing Committee as Lenovo torchbearer nominees for the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay route in China.
